Hey, everyone, I am back! This has already been a busy year, and it just started. I haven’t done much writing on my blog lately, but I have been doing a lot more writing on my novel. The thing is, I hate structure and planning I like to do things by the seat of my pants. I have realized how inefficient it is to do that way after many failed attempts at writing. So, I started using Scrivener again to write and plan and plot! It’s super freeing to have everything planned out and in one place. Although I still have no clue how to use Scrivener entirely to the capacity it was meant to be used; I am having fun playing around with it.
My next novel has nothing to do with my first one, and to be honest; I am not thrilled about my first one. I could have done better, but you know, I learned so much from writing that one and I know how and where I could use some improvements. I love to write it’s something that I love to do in my free time (what’s that?!?), and I think, plan, and plot throughout the day. If you’re interested, I started a group on Facebook called “Christian Writers Guild” and I would love for you to join. My whole intent with this group is to be able to throw ideas to each other, pray for one another, set goals, and so forth.
In the novel that I am working on it’s been challenging to think through situations and ponder what I would do, and what is the right thing to do. It’s been fun to throw certain scenarios out to Ruben and get his opinion on them, and it’s made me dig deep into God’s Word to get answers. My goal is to have it on Amazon by the end of the year, and so far I am on track for that goal! But, as you know, sometimes things don’t always go the way that we have planned.
My biggest fear, and I don’t think that I am alone on this one, is having my work critiqued. I know that I am way too hard on myself and never think things are good enough. But there is something about showing your work to another writer and being vulnerable and open to what they have to say to you. I think it’s a good thing!
Well, that’s all for now. Just wanted to give you a quick update on where I have been and what we have been up to. Sorry that this post is super scatterbrained…
