Hey friends, it’s been a while! As the year finishes out, I wanted to give a brief update. Thanksgiving Morning at 3AM I finally finished my Novel that I have been working on for the last few years. It felt amazing to type the end, and yes, I know there is still a lot more work to be done. Do you want to know what gave me that kick in the butt? NaNoWriMo!
This year was the first that I tried my hand at NaNoWriMo. If you’re not familiar with what NaNoWriMo is, it’s National Novel Writing Month, and it happens every November. How perfect is it that my main character’s name is November?!?
The goal is to write 50K words in one month, sounds daunting, right? Why 50K words? That’s about the length of a Novel, and if you break it down it’s truly not a daunting task. 1,667, that’s the amount of words a day you’ll need to “win”! And when you do win there are some amazing discounts on your favorite software like Scrivener, Dabble, AutoCrit, Dropbox and more! I have discovered so many new companies through NaNoWriMo.
If you want to know more about my WIP you can click here, or follow me on Instagram to see my progress with editing. I am taking a break from writing and editing for the month of December so I can direct my attention to my family and celebrating Christ’s birth together.
